With Green Wave all traffic lights on the chosen route will signal a green light in the desired direction on the chosen route. The traffic lights will have been affected well in advance so that all traffic is cleared and the vehicle can pass the intersection at a high speed. Furthermore, nearby traffic lights can be set at an all-red mode in order to establish a security zone without any moving traffic.
This means that there will be no crossing pedestrians or vehicles, and that the road in front of the emergency or VIP vehicles will have been cleared because of Green Wave. This will ensure a good overview of the traffic for the VIP personnel and a non-stop transportation to the desired destination.
